Half a loaf is better than none

Every step matters.

I've got a lot to do this weekend. So much that even my to-do list is cluttered. I'm trying to escape it for the time being because now I'm at that point where I'm asking myself "Where do I even start?", because even if I do, I don't feel like I'll be able to make it till the end.
And this is why I'm writing this blog - more because I want to remind myself that it is not that burdensome to start. If you're feeling so too, let me remind you doing something is much better than doing nothing.
The 70% Rule

There is you on your couch all lazy on a Saturday morning. It's new year and you decide to build up a habit of going to the gym everyday. Also, "weekends -> more time -> better workout" is what you had convinced yourself on the weekdays. But you really don't feel you'll be able to go for a difficult workout session today so you decide you'll go tomorrow.
In such cases, you wanted a 100 but eventually got a 0.
The 70% rule makes life easier for us (and also more productive). Ask yourself, "Can I go and just walk on the treadmill for a few minutes?" There is a higher chance for the answer to be yes.
Achieving a 100 on 100 everyday sounds good but it's too ideal. Aim for a 70%. If you complete 70% of the tasks you are supposed to do in a consistent way - good work! One brownie point that comes with this approach is that once we reach the 70% target, we often feel motivated to continue and reach nearer to the 100. And this keeps us going.
[Note - The 70% rule is something I found on a few YouTube videos and I felt it was worth sharing.]
Understanding that everyday is different
Sounds basic? But think of it.
One day you might be a taskmaster. The next, you're struggling to open the door when the door bell rings. I've come to a realization that the graph of staying consistent may not always be a straight line. So, don't punish yourself for a few setbacks on the way.
Like today, I wanted to write an amazzingg blog but I think I was just able to achieve a little of it and that's completely fine because half a loaf is better than none. And on some days if we don't get even half a loaf, let's try to get at least one-fourth of it 😇

Half a loaf is better than none...
couldn't agree more. The days when we are overwhelmed, then something is better than nothing. We'll always do better than the people still sitting on the couch. 🤣 That something even if it's small, will be one step closer to my goal. 😊
