Well needed walls

Limited privilege passes here :p

Quick question.

Would you let anyone play with a breakable showpiece that you value highly to keep them entertained?

Here's my answer - I would not. I guess there's a good chance your answer would be no too. It might not even look expensive or rare enough to the general eye but I'd still keep it safe. Why?

1. There are many other ways & many other things that I would rather share to keep them engaged.

2. They might not realize its value. Which is why they might not handle it with care.

And because it is too close to my heart, it is in my best interest to keep it safe-guarded. If you're wondering what I am taking about, I'm talking about the dreams and ambitions which are so real and personal to each of us. We need not let everyone gain access to it, especially if we don't feel comfortable talking about it.

The privilege of access

Building boundaries do not make us rude or cruel. In fact in all probability, it would be you being cruel to yourself if you let every other person into the sanctity of your super-private space.

In my life, I am the main character and it is you in yours. So if you ever let someone know about your goals, it is the person's privilege. And you are giving this privilege to the person.

Know who you are giving this access to and be very particular about it. Energy flows and we don't want negative energy seeping into our space. In my case, I usually talk about my goals in front of only a couple of very important people in my circle who I am very sure about. These are the people who will truly try to understand how important it is to me. And that's enough.

The bumpy-road process

The path to get to our best selves is usually filled with bumps, some filth, smooth wide roads in between sometimes and tricky hairpin curves a lot of the times. Which makes the entire process not so smooth.

If someone does not understand where the path is taking us - the person might genuinely feel that the destination is not worth the pain.

Moreover, the talks or advices revolving around our goals would be generic and not very valuable if we keep sharing it with our random acquaintances. Simply because they might not feel entitled enough to participate and give their true suggestions or inputs. Worse if it turns into a gossip for their tea-time buddies later and God knows how it might get twisted. And to be honest this aspect is what I dislike the most.

So if necessary, build that wall up to protect the things close to your heart. The best part is that it's legal and you need 0 rupees to build it. Finally act frugal when it comes to your privilege passes and go chase that crazy dream of yours. We got this!
